Because of Who You Are
Dad,
For all the adventures we’ve had and for all the adventures yet to come, and for all the life lessons you’ve taught me and all the lessons yet to come, thank you. I have been blessed in innumerable ways because of who you are.
You are a faithful man whose actions speak louder than his words. You live out the Gospel message in your everyday life, and you demonstrate Christ’s love in how you serve others.
You are a humble man who instead of boasting of your own impressive achievements rejoices and celebrates with others in their own successes.
You are a kind man who instead of insisting on your own way puts the needs of others before your own.
You are a strong man who has carried me on your shoulders—both literally and figuratively—throughout my life. Thank you for carrying me when I was too weak to walk, when I just wanted you to hold me, and for picking me up when I was down.
You are a practical man who understands the importance of balance in life. Thank you for teaching me how to work hard and play hard—how to get the job done and have fun too.
You are a man who works incredibly hard to provide for your family and care for your loved ones. Thank you for demonstrating a strong work ethic.
You are a man who not only finds enjoyment in the simple things but also seeks out grand adventures—and takes your family along for the ride.
You are a generous man who does not put a price tag on love or kindness. You give generously of your time, talents, and treasure, and you have taught your family to do the same.
You are a comical man whose quick wit brings smiles to faces and whose laughter is contagious.
You are a loving man whose heart overflows with an incredible love that can only be from God above.
Dad, thank you for answering God’s call to be the man He created you to be. Your family is blessed because of who you are.
Happy Father’s Day.
Love,
Your Daughter
P.S. Sorry about all the gray hairs. I know most of those are probably because of me.
