FAMILY

Dear Mom,

Dear Mom,

You are a woman of incredible strength and beauty who believes firmly, serves selflessly, listens patiently, speaks wisely, works tirelessly, lives fearlessly, laughs freely, and loves unconditionally.

Mom, you are all of this and more, and there are two little words I have come to realize I don’t say to you enough.

Thank you.

Thank you for your love. Thank for the love you have for our friends and family, for me, for dad, and most of all for Jesus Christ. The unconditional love you have shown me throughout my life is an incredible reminder of just how much I am loved by the Savior of the universe, and that is a gift you have given me with eternal significance.

Thank you for loving dad and loving him well. Thank you for being an example of how to never speak ill of your spouse and for allowing him to be Superman to me. That makes you Superwoman to me.

Thank you for serving others selflessly. You have a true servant heart, and I am reminded of this every time I see you console the broken-hearted, encourage the weary, care for the sick, and befriend those who are lonely.

Thank you for creating a home in which I got to be a kid. I am so thankful to you and dad for giving me the freedom to grow, learn, fail, and grow some more—all under the loving and watchful eyes of a mother and father whose collective wisdom allowed such trial and error.

Thank you for teaching me. Thank you for teaching me about all the big and little things in life, such as how to live courageously, laugh freely, believe firmly, succeed humbly, fail gracefully, and how to dress modestly, spend wisely, listen closely, and speak carefully. I am still learning how to do all this and more, but I am in awe of all of the incredible life lessons you have taught me and continue to teach me every day.

And, finally, thank you for celebrating each and every one of life’s milestone moments. Thank you for not only letting me but also encouraging me to fly a little bit higher each time while always making sure I knew there was a place for me back home.

Mom, you are a woman of true substance, and I am blessed to be your daughter.

Happy Mother’s Day.

Love,

Your Daughter
